The Heart of Texas Concert Band will celebrate the city of San Antonio’s 300th Birthday with the world premiere of a new work composed by Spanish composer Carlos Pellicer in honor of the occasion. Help us welcome the composer as he will be present to discuss the work and the legacy of Spain in San Antonio and the Southwest. The concert will be a mix of music representing the various cultures that have made the Alamo City the unique experience that it has become for us all.

Carlos Pellicer studied in different music schools, Spanish conservatories, and academies as well as in independently with renowned teachers. He usually lectures on his music and is required as a music consultant on many recordings and participates in the jury in many competitions in Spain and Italy mainly. At the moment he is the conductor of the U.M. Llutxent, Valencia, teaches music education classes and works for the Dutch publisher Molenaar Edition, who publishes his music for the band.
