On April 23rd, the HTxCB will inaugurate a new series of programs with our first ever Children’s Concert. This special event will include an instrument petting zoo and refreshments for our young audience members prior to the concert and will feature some of the charming music written for young children, such as George Kleinsinger’s “Tubby the Tuba” with HTxCB principal tuba Jose Segovia as soloist.

Adelante Winds
Adelante is a Spanish word meaning forward, onward, upward, in front of, in the future. Adelante Winds is a woodwind quintet based in San Antonio that performs standard wind quintet repertoire, transcriptions, and music of Latin-American composers, as well as minority and other under-represented composers. Jose Segovia, tuba
Jose Segovia served 30 years in the field of education prior to retiring in 2011. Since then, Jose has taught private lessons to students for the past six years. Jose is a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Degree in Music Education, and also his graduate degree in Education Leadership. Learn more about Jose >>
