Trevor K. Ousey

Trevor Ousey is the director of bands at Cain Middle School in Rockwall, Texas, where he teaches and assists in all aspects of the band program from 6th through 8th grade. Prior to Cain, Mr. Ousey was the assistant band director at Devine ISD in Devine, Texas and the director of bands at Morales Junior High School in Uvalde, Texas.
A graduate of Indiana University and the Jacobs School of Music, Mr. Ousey is involved in multiple organizations and activities. In 2011, Mr. Ousey co-created the Indiana University chapter of the National Band Association. Additionally, Mr. Ousey has received several awards including the Alan Chepregi Memorial Scholarship and the Colonel Frank Herberth Memorial Grant, both awarded for his exceptional leadership skills and an enthusiasm for music education. Mr. Ousey also co-hosted a weekly classical radio show on WIUX 99.1 FM in Bloomington, Indiana.
Beyond teaching, Mr. Ousey has also had several performance opportunities on the local and national stage as a member of the Southern Indiana Wind Ensemble and the Indiana University Marching Hundred. Additionally, he also performed solo and chamber literature while attending the Jacobs School of Music and performed in several concert bands. Mr. Ousey has also served as a clarinet section member of the Heart of Texas Concert Band in San Antonio, Texas.
Mr. Ousey also continues to be an active volunteer and site staff member with Music for All and Bands of America, assisting in logistics and event flow for several marching band regions, grand national championships, and national concert band festivals. In addition to local and state conventions, his other professional affiliations include the National Association for Music Education, the Texas Music Educators Association, the Texas Bandmasters Association, the National Band Association, and the International Clarinet Association.
Mr. Ousey lives in Dallas with his girlfriend, Loren, and his Australian shepherd, Archer.
