Benjamin Grabber

Benjamin Grabber is a versatile musician, with trumpet being his first instrument. An accomplished conductor & music educator, he studied under esteemed educators such as Dr. Gary Garner, Mr. J. R. McEntyre, and Dr. Russ Teweleit. Benjamin graduated Cum Laude from West Texas A&M University as an Attebury Honors Scholar, with a Bachelor of Music Education, and a Master of Music in Conducting under Mr. Don Lefevre.

During his time at WT, Benjamin performed on clarinet with the WTAMU Concert Band, appeared with the WTAMU Opera as Pish-Tush in The Mikado and Dr. Bartolo in The Marriage of Figaro, sang bass with the WTAMU Chorale in Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with the Amarillo Symphony Orchestra, and as a singer/actor/dancer for two seasons in TEXAS the Outdoor Musical. He was a Graduate Assistant & manager of the Mary Moody Northen Recital Hall, renovating and rejuvenating the hall’s equipment and practices.

Benjamin has enjoyed playing trumpet with a variety of groups, which include the Lone Star Brass Quintet, the Midland-Odessa Symphony, the Inaugural TJEA Summer Symposium All-Star Band, the San Antonio Symphony, the Boerne Community Band, and the Heart of Texas Concert Band.

Grabber has led various musical ensembles for churches, both civilian and military. He received a challenge coin from the Commander of Chaplains of the European Theater for providing music for Catholic mass while on deployment in Kosovo. He also serves as All-Region Band Coordinator, audition music editor, and is a mentor and clinician.

Off the podium and the stage, Benjamin is thankful for every moment he gets to share with his wife Chelsea, and children Abigail, Ephraim, Lily, Willow, and Joseph.
